From the Cincinnati Enquirer, On this day in 1898 JOSEPH STEEL, 68 of Highland County, Oh.,stopped to see a friend in Lawrenceburg In., on his way to IOWA. MARY JANE HART arrived in the same home to vist a relative. The two vistors, who had been sweethearts in their youth met again for the first time in 30 years. Mr. Steel had been married 3 times, Ms HART twice; but their spouses had died. After several hours of getting reacquainted, they decided to get married.
