Hello all. With the talk about Harts in Kentucky I thought I'd post my query. I am looking for information about Richard Hart b. abt. 1795 in Kentucky. From the census I've learned that his parents were born in Maryland. I don't know when they emigrated to Kentucky. Richard around 1860 moved to Mitchell Co., North Carolina and married Jane Amanda McKinney. They had two children David Columbus (my g-g-grandfather) b. 1867 and Julia b. 1869. I don't know if this is a second marriage or not, but Richard was considerably older than Jane. Additionally Richard was a doctor and in some census reports his is listed as Doctor R. Hart or Doc Hart. He was listed in the 1880 census at the age of 85. I don't know exactly when he died. Some members of the family say he is buried somewhere around the Appalachian trial in North Carolina. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Take care, Melanie Storie Elizabethton, Tennessee
