    3. I don't specifically know that mine were the same family as the Hart dit Jolicoeur family from Clinton County, NY that other people have been discussing, It seems more than one family may have done this antic with their name. I know that A Hart dit Jolicoeur family was from Napierville and LaPrairie Counties, and I have a list of abaout five churches where someone found records. My Hart ancestors were in Bishops Mills, south of Ottawa, in Ontario. They arrived there in 1840. Let's make sure we're clear. They used the name Hart in Canada. In Canada, they never used the name Jolicoeur. When they got to this country, they tended to change Hart to Jolicoeur. In Canada, Jolicoeur is a rare name. Noone knows why they started using a fancified semifictional French name that didn't, as nearly as anyone can tell, belong to them, in this country. Or atleast, that's what people who have all dematerialized were posting at genforum six years ago.
