It appears I'm going to have to explain myself to the list. I had posted a query asking Sue Shaffer to get in touch with me, but I haven't yet heard from her. Here's my story. (Chap.1) Awhile back I found an old posting from her in which she mentioned that Isaac Hart and Lydia Hart were the parent of her grandfather, Elwood Randal Hart b. 8/9/1898. However, when I sent an e-mail to the address given, it came bouncing back to me. I have an interest in this Isaac Hart since I believe he may be connected to my great-grandfather George Harrison Hart whom I believe is from Greene Co., PA. Below is a summary of what I know or believe to be true about George and Isaac. Isaac Henderson Hart b. 1852 Fayette Co., PA s/o George Hart (b. abt June 1801) and Jane _____ b. PA Isaac married Lydia Anne Clouston b. abt 1855 Marshall Co., VA(WV) d/o Robert Clouston and Sarah Pelley (Chap. 2) My great-grandfather was George Harrison Hart b. Mar 1861/1862 in either Greene or Fayette Co., PA d. 22 Jan 1927, Lewis Co., WV George lived most of his adult life in Cameron, Marshall Co. WV and married Emma Jane Kirby. George and Isaac Hart both appear in the 1870, 1880 censuses in the household of George and Jane Hart in Greene Co., PA. In one census, George is listed as a grandson. If he had been Jane's son, Jane would have been in her 50's when she gave birth, and while not impossible, it seems unlikely. So it appears that George may have been a nephew of Isaac. At any rate, they are certainly related. I am trying to find someone who can fill in some blanks for me and help me establish family relationships. This family is my stonewall since I cannot get beyond George and Jane, and I cannot find proof that this George in the census is MY George although all circumstantial evidence points to this conclusion. Can anyone help?
