Ive rescued an old photograph album which appears to have originally belonged to the TOWNE Family. The album includes identified photographs belonging mostly to the TOWNE, HART, KENNEDY, FOSTER, TAYLOR, BURNHAM, MESSENGER, and STORY Families. HART living in Townsend, MA during the 1880 census with Charles Mother, Lefy HART. Information in the 1880 census is that Charles is age 34, a Salesman, born in MA to MA born parents, his wife Eldora is age 33 and also born in MA to MA born parents. TOWNE the niece of Charles J. & Nancy J. TOWNE. Cora was living with the family in Essex, MA during the 1880 census including, Charles J. TOWNE age 39, born in NH to NH born parents, a Physician, his wife Nancy J. age 29, born in MA to MA born parents, and two children, Marion E. age 2, and Cora L. age 21, born in NH to NH born parents. I am assuming that Cora is the child of Charles J. TOWNEs brother and that Charles is the man referred to as Dr. TOWNE. I believe that Cora L. TOWNE was b. about 1857 in Stoddard, NH and that she married Luther Edwin BURNHAM on the 21st of Nov 1888 in Essex, MA. I believe that Luther BURNHAM was the son of Luther E. & Etta M. BURNHAM. I believe that Luther E. BURNHAM may have been previously married to Etta M. BURNHAM was they were recorded living in Essex, MA during the 1880 census. Luther was listed as age 31, born in MA, a Calker whose parents were also born in MA. Living with them at that time was Luthers Father, Luther BURNHAM age 61, born in MA and widowed. I believe that Luther E. was born in Essex, MA and that his Mother was Hannah GRIFFIN. * Unidentified Child, from G. K. Dodge Studio in Ipswich, MA, 1880s or 1890s, girl age 2 years and 7 months (two copies of this photograph in album) * Unidentified Boy, from Haswell Studio in Salem, MA, 1880s or 1890s, boy age 5 ½ years old (two copies of this photograph in album) * Mr. MESSENGER, from White Studio in Keene, NH, 1880s, in his 50s or 60s * Anne CUTTER MESSENGER, from Stowell Studio in Keene, NH, 1890s, in her 50s, note Aunt to Cora I believe that these may be photographs of Erskine E. & Anna R. MESSENGER who were living in Nelson, NH during the 1880 census. Erskine E. was age 45, born in NH to NH born parents and was working in a chair shop at the time, his wife Anna R. was age 38, born in NH to NH born parents, and they had one daughter in the household at the time, Carlotta L. age 9, also born in NH. * Marion STORY, from Haswell Studio in Salem, MA, 1890s, in her teens or 20s * Hattie TOWNE, from Warren Studio in Boston, MA, 1880s, in her teens * Frank E.
