Alfred GRAY Neal HART built "Hart's Hotel", which was also known as "Hart's Union Hotel" in Flemington, Hunterdon Co., NJ, 1814. His son Mahlon C. Neal HART, Flemington, June 29, 1836 (pg. 33) Jan. 2,1837: Neal HART was a "paid up" member of the Flemington Vigilant Society at the annual meeting in Flemington. No. 248 Wednesday, Sept. 6, 1837; (Flemington, NJ) DIED, at Stroudsburg, Pa. on Monday morning, the 4th instant, after an illness of one week, Mr Neal HART, of this village, in the 59th year of his age. Mr. Hart had been absent from home on business several weeks, and was returning home when taken sick; he reached Stroudsburg, where, after a few days severe suffering, he breathed his last at the residence of Mr. Joseph WILSON. His remains were brought to this place for interment. Mr. HART was among the oldest inhabitants of Flemington, and to his enterprising spirit and untiring industry we are indebted for many of our most valuable improvements. He has left numerous family to mourn the loss of their best earthly friend.
