John Hart, the Signer, was from Hopewell, Hunterdon Co, NJ. His son, Edward, married Nancy Stout. I can't find a William Hart in the 1800's nor any Strimple's in my sources. The 1816 Hunterdon County, New Jersey, guardianship records of the minor children of John STRIMPLE list William HART as a surety. My impression is that there were at least two Hart families in Hunterdon at the time. Does anyone on this list recognize this William Hart? Do you know of a family connection to the Strimple family? The one Strimple-Hart connection I know of is: Jonathan Stout b1660 Samuel Hart Samuel Stout b1709 James Hart b1717 Jonathan Stout Jane Hart b1765 married Samuel Opdycke Samuel Stout b1779 married Letitia Updyke b1789 Keziah Stout b1804 married Aaron Strimple b1803 I don't know whether William Hart is part of this family. This Aaron Strimple is one of the minor children of John Strimple. Jane Hart was born in Plumstead Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She is buried in the Solebury Church cemetery, near New Hope, Pennsylvania. Frances Van Scoy fvanscoy@wvu.edu
Need information on Henry Hart born in North Carolina around 1878-1882. He could possibly be the Henry Hart born in Gulf, Chatham Cty in 1878 and listed as grandchild of Alpha in her home. Since there was no 1890 census available I don't know where they might have gone. Any help out there? Barbara

Am seeking information on the family of William Hart, b 1717 in CT? or NJ? or..., d 1799, present day Fulton Co, PA. PLEASE NOTE: In the following descendant tree, Ann McCreary and Jane Clayton are shown as possible wives of William (There names are SPECULATIVE and reflect possible leads that I"M continuing to research). Do NOT take them as correct. ONLY ONE MRS. HART IS KNOWN AT PRESENT, AND HER NAME WAS "JANE" (LNU)...and, in fairness and respect to her, she may have been the ONLY wife of William Hart and mother of their children.
