    1. Genealogical Message Preparation
    2. All, After all the discussion I forgot a suitable SUBJECT Line. Situation remedied. It seems simple enough to write a meaningful note. I receive 50 to 100 messages a day, so scanning the subjects is an important way of paring the number down to the meaningful ones. Of course, these are suggestions, but I think useful ones. SUBJECT: It would be ever so nice, if the subject line addressed the message content. Whether it be a person or a place, the time frame is critical. This gives the reader a chance to determine if the message is of interest to him/her. A subject of "hi" or "hello" or "HELP" does no not engender any interest. Personally, I delete them out of hand. TEXT: Seems to me the who, what, when, where and why are the essentials to a good message. Like any ad, brevity is a virtue. I seems a courtesy to send a "thank you" to the person who provided you with the info. The message would go to his personal Email address rather than to an entire List. Had to get it off my chest, again. 3. John, Close, but not quite. I just found out G-Grandpa was Orange Hart b. 1836 married to Hellen Pelizy b. 1863??. It turns out that there were 7 kids, Julius b. 1877, Frank b.?, Fredrick b.? , Elmer b. 1865, Emma b. 1863, Lula, & Otto b.? (maybe Ardo). Hellen had a brother Howard Pelizy. Hellen must be his 2nd wife because there's another reference to a Maria in an earlier census in Wallingford, Rutland, VT. Thanks anyway!!! ----- Original Message ----- From: "John" <jtremblay@swfla.rr.com> To: "wghart" <wghart@charter.net> Sent: Wednesday, June 01, 2005 8:55 AM Subject: Re: [HART-L] Re: HART-D Digest V05 #31 Hello I have a Hart line, Elmer Hart b.1861 s/o Wellington Hart and his sister Emma Hart b.1851 the line goes back to Nicholas Hart about 1600 from England. 3. Hello Bill, Out of curiosity, I tried to find your Hart family, and succeeded somewhat. Here's what I found (briefly): In 1910 the families were in Vernon Co., WI. Julius and Della were there with two children, and Frank and Elmer were there with their mother Helen, age 68. In 1880, the family was in Vernon Co., WI also, headed by Orange Hart and wife Helen. The children were Frank, Frederick, Julius, Ardo (Otto?), and Orange's brother in law Howard Pelizy, age 40 born VT (Helen's brother?). In 1870, the family was in Rutland Co., VT. Orange was listed as 34, b VT, wife Maria was 28, b VT, and two children Elmer 5 and Emma born Nov 1869. Helen and Maria might be the same person. Finding the family in 1900 will solve that, as it will show how many children the woman has had, and how many are still living. I hope you get some more leads with this information. Best wishes, Judith http://home1.gte.net/judithaw/index.htm

    1. Jane Clayton (married ? Wm Hart 1717-1799, lived in Bedford Co, PA)
    2. Michael H Thorne
    3. Hi list ... I am looking for information on a Jane Clayton who married a William Hart around 1758. My earliest ancestor was William Hart (b ca 1717 - d 1799 in Bedford [now Fulton] Co, PA) and I suspect my William is the one who married Jane. Here is what I KNOW about William and what I SUPPOSE about him. (Please don't pass on my guesswork as fact!) I KNOW: - he had a least 7 children between about 1750 and 1769. - his 1st 4 children were born between 1750 and 1756 - his last 3 children were born between 1763 and 1769 I SUSPECT: this suggests he was married twice. I KNOW: - that a William Hart and Jane Clayton were married in Philadelphia in 1758. - per land records of 1789, my William and "his wife Jane" sold land in Bedford [now Fulton] Co, PA, to one of their sons. (But, was this Jane Clayton or another Jane?) I KNOW: - from a land warrant of 1767 that William was making improvements on land in Bedford County by 1760. I SUSPECT: (really, just guess work) William and a first wife were married around 1749 and that she died in 1756 or 57. He then remarried. If anyone can help me with either William Hart OR Jane Clayton, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Mike Thorne mhthorne@juno.com

    3. Hi, I need any information on Robert Hart who died in Laurens County, Georgia about 1808. His wife was Mary (maiden name unknown) who later married a Fenn, a Chairs, and a Rowland. Their children were: Thomas Warren Hart who married Olive Barlow; Frances Hart apparently married twice, the last time to Jeremiah Day; Jane Hart who died young; Martha (Patsy) Hart who married Thomas Maning or Manning; and Jesse Hart (no further information on him). Thomas Warren and his family, Frances and her family were all in Texas before 1850, as was their mother, Mary Rowland. Any help will be appreciated.
