"The Haarts of Randolph", K. H. Frame, is out of print and no longer available. The Hopewell Museum is sold out of Cleon E. Hammond's "John Hart, the Signer..." biography of . I would like to find a Hart who married either a Tucker or Coppock. Eleanor Tucker b 1791 Md had a middle name of HART. One of her children named a son John - middle name - HART. Does anybody know of a Tucker/Hart connection? Dorothy
Two weeks ago I was corresponding with a woman (from this site, I believe) about the Harts from southeastern Ohio around 1800, give and take a few decades. One week ago a lightning surge struck my computer and turned its hard drive into sausage. My key Hart ancestor was named Selah Hart and I wrote her that he might be the key to our two familys' connection. If you are that woman, please email me. I have lost your name, address and our correspondence too, and I would like to recover that information in case I find out anything more, so that I can tell you about what I might find. Best regards, Gary
There is a book called "Harts of Randolph" compiled by Katherine Hart Frame which has descendants of John the signer. It was published by McClain Printing Co Parsons, WV in 1876. Check your library to see if they have it. I don't know if it is still in print or not. Virginia [email protected]
Connie-- I am a direct line descendant of Joh the Signer. Check my homepage and see if the Hart info matches yours. Rick -- http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/2632 Rick Wiley Diagonal, Iowa 50845
I am looking for the father of John Hart, b. abt 1789 and who married Ruth Stout in Roane Co. Tn in 1810. His family lived next to a Mary "Polly" Hart whose husband was Tyre Lawson in McMinn Co. Tn. They were probably siblings. Their father could possibly be named John Hart also, but haven't located him yet. I don't think he was "the signer" Lawrence Lawson [email protected]
Hi list, I lived in Hopewell, NJ for 10 years, where John Hart the signer lived. The Hopewell museum has a book on his life, his parents, siblings, children, their spouses, their descendants and the locations where some of the family spread to, for $10.00 (it was $10 when I bought it in the 1980's). Hopewell is a small village and if you send a request to the Hopewell Museum on Broad St, Hopewell, NJ., it will get there (sorry, I forget the zip). I would share the information from my HART book, but loaned it to someone and they lost it. I am trying to find out my ggrandmother's first husband's name and his HART family,,, Here is what I have: Ggrandmother was Clementina K. Yates (182/14/1844-3/25/1913), from Warwick, PA. She married ? HART. They lived in Pineville, PA, and had a son, Charles HART (1863-1894). I don't know if Charles had any siblings. He did have a daughter, Bertha (1890-1897). Both are buried in Riverview cemetary in Trenton, NJ. Mr. Hart, Clementina's husband) died and my ggrandmother married my ggrandfather, Edward S. Pullen in March of 1866 in Trenton, NJ. I know some of the HART family were from NJ as I have a signed autograph to Clementina's daughter, Elizabeth Pullen that says...to Aunt Bessie from Isaac HART and is dated 2/22/1923. Does this HART family look familiar to any of you HARTS out there? I would surely like to find these HARTS. Thanks for any information you might have to share. I would like to know more abt JOHN HART, I have an ancester named John Webster Hart of NC, his father was supposed to have been John Webster Hart of CT. I have no idea if this is right yet.
My gg grandfather JOHN DILL RAMEY, md HANNAH HART, daughter of ELIJAH HART. My mother was our family genealogist and in the book she compiled, she noted the following: "The first Hart I have record of is ELIJAH HART b abt 1760 in New Jersey and died before census time in 1820. In 1810 he was over 45. He md Mary (Polly) Atkins and they came to Virginia from North Carolina. I believe, but cannot prove, that Elijah was a son of JOHN HART, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence and that he was in the Revolutionary War. John Hart had a large family and they were all harrassed after the signing." Does anyone know of Elijah? I know only of his descendants. Nina Jackson
Hi all, I too would like to know the siblings, especially brothers of signer, John Hart. Thanks to all for any help. Betty in California
Does anyone have a web site for information on John Hart the signer and his descendants? Does anyone have a web sit for information on the brother of John Hart, the signer? Thanks Have a super day. Connie

Hi I am still having trouble with my HART(Hessian or Irish?) ancestors in Middlesex co. Ontario. I have still been unable to determine where the London Leaf(May 1993) found that the HART, SUMNER, STEPHENS, BARNARD, BARROW and JACKSON, who were among the first settlers of Concessions 1 and 2 of Westminster Township, Middlesex co Ontario, were Loyalists from Vermont. Of course, my Esther(Hester) HART md John E. SLOOT July 3, 1838 in Westminster Township. They were married by the Baptist Rev Abraham SLOOT, b 1787 in Grantham and father of the groom. It appears that Esther's father may have been John H HART and John's father may have been one of the original settlers of Westminster Township, James HART. Any help with HART information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!! Stan
