I would love to connect with any HART family - not just overseas, although eventually that would be my goal.....I can't even locate the family of the one HART that married into my family....that would be my ggggrandmother Adaline Hart who married Stephen Thames in January 1838 in Stewart County GA.....and moved to Dale County, AL. There was a Benjamin Hart next door in the 1840 census, but I can't make a connection. I know there were Harts in the area because two families were killed by Indians in 1836......If any of you have a Adaline, born in GA, SC or NC about 1810-1817. Maybe she was born in AL, but traveling across Indian land to GA to get married in 1838 doesn't seem likely. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Gypsy Thames McKim

William Hart was born on February 02, 1847 in (according to marriage certificate) Concordia Parish, Louisanna, others in family says Rockingham County, Virginia. Hello Viettia: My ggrandmother, nee MARY ANN HART was born October 21, 1926. According to her death certificate signed by a spinster daughter, her birthplace was New Brunswick. The 1900 census, however, lists her birthplace as Nova Scotia. She married David Nicholson of New York and they are listed at Lakeport, Niagara County, NY, in the 1860 census. My only candidates for her parents comes from a book of New Brunswick Vital Statistics which states that 1 May 1823, married by Rev. R. Willis, James Hartt/Mary Ann d/o John Williams Architect all of this city. NBRG. City Gazette. I'm on the New Brunswick list, but have not seen any Hart/Hartt posts yet. If I get any further information, I'll email it to you. Tom Brown

I am sure all of us are interested in the history of the family, but the only way to get to England, Ireland, Scotland, etc, is to work backwards, one step at a time. Once we get the immigrant ancestor, then we can do what you suggest. Frankly, that is the goal of most of us! Briefly: I believe that Martha's parents were Josias Furman/Firmin, Jr. and Sarah Strickland. He was born in 1652 at Long Island, NY and married in 1680. She was born 1644 at Fairfield, CT, died 11 Jan 1740/1 at Trenton, NJ. Josias Jr's father was Josias, born at Watertown, Mass, and his father was John , born in Suffolk, England. I don't have my sources at hand, but this will get you started. Good luck. Hi, I have recently discovered a Joseph Hart age 76 born 1823 living in Greene Co, Arkansas in 1900. He lives rather close to William Thomas Hart that married Mary Adelico Kemp (Carroll Co, Tn.) Is this Joseph Hart a son of Gilbert Hart of Carroll Co, Tn.? Is he the father of William Thomas Hart b 1843? All help appreciated and happy to exchange! pj
My Harts were of German descent. They most likely came over in the Palatine migration around 1709. I would love to know where they came from in Germany and feel strongly they were of Palatine origin however, have not been able to find that exact info. The earliest info I have is Barnabus Hart(e) who was born c. 1757 in the Mohawk Valley, NY. Eventually, they ended up in Stormont cty, Osnabruck township, Ontario until my great grandfather John Calvin Hart made his way down to Erie, PA. I have lots of names and dates if you are new to the list. Some of you I have corresponded with before! The name of Barnabus' parents would be great and it would be wonderful to find out when they or which ever of my Hart ancestor was the first to land and where and of course where they came from in Germany! Thanks, Halley

I'd sure like to know who their Parents were. Hi, I am descended from Edward Hart 1687-1752 and Martha Furman 1691-1745. Martha was born 1691 Newtown, Long Island, New York and died in 1745. Some of the books I obtained information on the Furman's are as follows: Genealogy of Early Settlers in Trenton and Ewing "Old Hunterdon County" New Jersey by Eli F. Cooley and William S. Cooley The Great Migration Begins 1620-1633 by Robert Charles Anderson The Annals of Newtown, in Queens County New York by James Riker, Jr. Colonial Families of the United States of America Edited by George Norbury Mackenzie Old Times in Old Monmouth by Edwin Salter These take the Furman's back 5 generations to 1588 in Naylandby, Suffolk, England. I have the information on Word and would be happy to send as an attachment to anyone interested. Diana Guiler Cape Coral, Florida [email protected]
I don't seem to be able to fin anything about my John HART (not the signer) who married Eleonor HILL. Their son John HART (2) was born 1838 in London and died 25 jan 1900 in Papeete Tahiti. This John HARET(2) exported cotton to the states during the Civil War and was written about by Robert Louis Stevenson among others. There are a lot of HART relatives now in Tahiti but we do not know where the John HART who married Eleonor HILL came from and are curious as towhy he emigrated first to the USA and then the Marquesas Islands. Any help

Everybody seems to be searching for their HART relatives in the USA but they originally came over from somewhere. Isn't anyone interested in the family before they arrived in the US??
As for being bored--no. JEALOUS YES! My line is at a dead stop for me. The area I know I am working in is Melber ,KY area. At least that is where my grammy grew up. From where her momma came- not a clue. Or who the parents of Beulah "Dixie" Hart Thompson was. She was born July 12, 1875 died 1955. She had the following siblings Mussetta -married a John Lilley had 2 daughters. Daisy who married Will Madden and had daughters Vida and Onieda. And 2 brothers Calvin and Jim (James?). If anyone should be able to enlighten me I would be grateful. I am happy to see someone make progress in their search. And I too am expanding my knowledge. When I was in school I never thought about how the history we learned affected individuals and families. This puts a whole new light on it. Thanks!!! J.K. Have a nice day/night! :)
Hi Listers: I'm looking for any Harters whos family came from or through Indiana back in the early 1800s. I know this isn't a Hart inquiry, but as far as I know there isn't a Harter List Sorry for the bother Rodd
