Have found it both ways for the same person. Here is what I have from research notes : At the 1885 Death of her husband, George ALLAN, the Informant was the widower...Jessie Harroway ALLAN. Information from the Daily Interment Books at Sighthill Cemetery in Glasgow indicate the surname is HARROWER. More notes on her parents taken from her 1882 Marriage to George ALLAN : Jessie Harroway MITCHELL, Sewing Machinist, 21y, her Mark X witnessed by T? BUCHANAN and Christina McCOLL. Residing 21 Clyde Street, Port Dundas Glasgow. Daughter of Robert MITCHELL, Bricklayer, Journeyman and Elizabeth MITCHELL ms HARROWAY. ALLAN is a line I've been researching heavily. A sibling to this George ALLAN is my direct ancestor, Elizabeth ALLAN born 1856 Campsie, Stirlingshire.
