In Scotland that was the first year of mandatory Civil Registration, and it ended up being the ONLY year so many questions were asked of the Informant. These Registrations contain a nice lot of good information. Will post them separately. 1855 Deaths, Culross Perthire entry #19. Janet HARROWER age 1y. Lived in Culross since birth. Daughter of John HARROWER, House carpenter and Master Undertaker and Janet HARROWER maiden name BORROWMAN. Died April 24, 11:40pm Town of Culross of Hooping Cough duration 1 week. Certified by John Scott, Surgeon who last saw deceased April 23. Buried Abbey Churchyard, Culross, certified by Undertaker, James Aikman, Culross. Informant was John HARROWER, father.
