Peter Harrower (possibly with middle name of Nicol) born circa 1833 who married Jane Millar on 02/12/1859 in Oathlaw, Forfar. I have details of the marriage - Peter's parents were James Harrower and Janet Hutchison (daughter of James Hutchison and Mary Millar) and that is as far as I can get on that branch. Jane's parents were George Millar and Isobel (Isobella) Guthrie. Peter and Jane had a daughter Isabella Jane Allen Harrower b. 24/11/1860 in Culross. The family lived in Alva, Clackmannanshire where Peter was a dairyman in 1883. He died 15/10/1886 in Alva. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I have never gotten much further with the Thorntons either other than seeing from Frances' marriage certificate that her father was called Jeopath ??(or possibly Joseph if it was written incorrectly??) and that the family came from the Hylton area of Durham. Also noted on Jane's Birth certificate is that a TIME of birth was written in, and since that was often used when twins were present if this was the case there? But have found no answers. I contacted the General Register Office of Scotland and the sent me the following information.They were unable to find John's birth in the Parish register but believe he is the son of Andrew Harrower a Mason of Leith and Jane Paxton. They married on the 10th July 1812 in Leith. Jane Paxton re-married a Thomas Sivess and had a daughter Mary Sivess born 1836. Thomas Sivess was 20 years younger the Jane. Jane died on 3 March 1865 in Stenton aged 69 years. She was the daughter of Henry Paxton (a farmer) and Patricia Mack. Jane Paxton was born 1 April 1795 un Duns, Berwick, Scotland.
