Hello all! I'm looking for information on the family of Robert Johnston HARRISON, born around 1842-1844 in Nova Scotia, CAN. Was in California, USA by 1884. He was Naturalized in Fresno County Superior Court, CA., June 23, 1884. He was listed on the Great Voters Registration of Fresno Co, CA on Aug. 30, 1884 as a farmer. His residence at that time was: Colony. He married Mary SMITH of Ormstown QUE CAN, probably in the USA. They had three children, 1 unknown, and two daughters Alicia born 1881 and Katie born 1886, both in California. (Census info) Robert HARRISOn was on the 1886, 1890, 1892, and 1894 voters registration as being in the Central Colony Precinct, P.O. Address: Fresno. He did not show up on the 1896 or 1898 voters' registration list, so I assume he died between Oct. 1894 and May 1896. On the 1900 Fresno Co, CA census, Mary HARRISON was listed in 3rd Twp., as a widow, occupation,l a farmer. Birth date was given as Sept. 1848., born Canada(FR), father born Ireland, mother born Ireland, to USA 1877, in USA 23 years. Not naturalized. Daughters: Alicia 18, and Katie age 14, live with her. Both daughters born California. On the 1920 Fresno Co Census, Mary HARRISON, is living in the City of Fresno, at what appears to be 1449 Amador(? tiny writing) Street, between 'E' St. and 'F' Street? Her occupation is 'Grocer / store'. Evidently she owned a grocery store? Her daughter Katie was living with her. Can anyone help with this family, or make a suggestion? Thanks, Joanne in CA
