    1. My HARRISONs
    2. My HARRISON's hail from County Wexford, IRL, where they lived on a small farm in a hamlet called Hardyglass, about 20 miles South Southwest of Wexford City near Lake Tacumshin. There, Bengeman HARRISON, b. 1775 at Hardyglass, married Hannagh DUFFIELD b. 1793, and they had 6 children as follows: Benjamine J. Harrison, m. Feb. 4, 1857 to Frances O'Connor, George Harrison [little known of George], William Harrison, who married Elizabeth Beggsbey; Susan Harrison, b. at Hardyglass in 1818, Married Edward E. O'Connor, and died May 13 and is buried in Ballybrennan Cemetery in County Mayo, Hannah Francis Harrison, b. 1820 in Hardyglass, Married John T. O'connor Feb. 4, 1856, and died May 7, 1902 and is buried at Ballybrennan, and my Great Grandfather, Samuel Aaron Harrison, b. July 25, 1823. Samual Aaron Harrison attended a "church school" near Lake Tacumshin where he studied seamanship and navigation, and later he sailed on merchant vessel's from 1844 to 1854 on the route from Liverpool to Baltimore, MD. On April 28, 1854, he and Elizabeth Ruth TACKABERRY and two of Elizabeth's sisters boarded the Ship GLENLYON in New Ross, County Wexford to sail for Canada, later arriving in Montreal in June, 1854. Of note, Elizabeth's parents were Edward Tackaberry and Martha DUFFIELD [Hannagh Duffield's sister, who had married Bengeman Harrison] of County Wexford, thus Samual and Elizabeth were "kissing cousins". Upon arrival in Montreal, not sure what they did for work, but on Christmas Day, 1854, Samuel and Elizabeth were married at the farm home of one of Elizabeth's sisters near the border of Ontario and Vermont. Samuel and Elizabeth settled for a time in Coatticook, Quebec, Canada, where Hannah Elizabeth Harrison was born in 1856, then Martha Jane in 1858. They then moved to Smith Falls, Ontario where they operated a Country Store, and where Susan Marie Harrison was born in 1860. Samuel Aaron Jr. was born in Smith Falls January 30, 1861, and George W. Harrison was born in 1863. In 1864, Samuel and Elizabeth emigrated to the USA, settling in Wisconsin on a farm between Poy Sippi and Lake Poygan in Waushara County, where two further sons were born---Benjamin Edward Tackaberry Harrison b. 1866 and Cadwallader Joseph Edmund Harrison b. Dec. 22, 1867 who was my Grandfather. Romance blossomed in the USA, where Martha Jane married Marion Eugene Bowen on March 21, 1887 in Poy Sippi; Susan Marie married William Carpenter [date unknown]; Samuel Aaron Jr. married Josephine Elida Thomas on Nov. 26, 1903 in Auroraville, WI, Benjamin E. T. Harrison married May Elizabeth Jones, and my Grandfather, Cadwallader, married my Matie J. King, who died in childbirth a few years later. He then married my Grandmother, Jennie Mae McGREGOR in Poy Sippi, WI on April 3, 1902. Their first daughter, Ruth Margaret HARRISON was my mother, b. July 7, 1903. Interested in hearing from any and all HARRISONs regarding any possible linkages or relationships to "me and mine". With all good wishes, /S/ Jim Carey Washington, DC
