    1. Tell Me Your Names
    2. Hi Everyone, I am a California HARRISON, but am afraid I don't know anything about the other CA HARRISONS that were mentioned earlier. My HARRISON brick wall is Samuel HARRISON, bn. 10 March, 1821 (date from age on tombstone in Brown Co., WI) in England. I haven't been able to find any info. on where in Eng. he was born or his parent's names in Canada or the US. The first info. I have for him is his marriage to Susan BRIGHTON in May, 1842 in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada (this info. from Civil War pension papers). They go to Buffalo, NY where Samuel joins the US Army in July, 1842 for 5 yrs. They may have lived at the Buffalo Barracks. They have Mary Elizabeth in 1843 and Henry Albert, in 1844 in Buffalo. The last part of Samuel's Army service is during the Mexican-American War. He is discharged in Mexico in July, 1847. Son, John James, is born in Mackinac, MI in Dec., 1847 (there was an Army base there also). Samuel received a military land warrant for his 5 yrs. service and used it to buy land in De Pere, Brown Co., WI. Four more children were born there: Richard Edward 1849, Harriet Sophia 1851, Annetta Maria 1853 and Sarah Louette 1855. When the Civil War started Samuel joined the Army again. He was wounded at the Battle of Corinth, MS and died from gangrene after his leg was amputated. There were articles in the Green Bay, WI papers, but nothing biographical. The only other Harrison I can find that I know must be related is a John Harrison, age 50, bn. England, who was on the 1870 census of De Pere next door to Susan Harrison, Samuel's widow. John's wife was Sarah, age 49. Can't find any other info. on him either. So I have been stuck on these HARRISONS for many years. If anyone has any info. they can share, I will be most grateful and will gladly share any other info. I have. Thank you. Carol Harrison Carol H726@aol.com
