Beginner needs advice. I'm trying to research Charles HARRISON, born somewhere in England around 1830 (according to an 1850 census). He married Martha WINSOR in Oct. 1853, crossed the Atlantic between then and Nov 1854 when the first of 10 children were born (William Henry HARRISON) in Iowa. I'm not certain how to go about finding exactly where in England was his birthplace or who his parents were. I've tried searching Passenger and Immigration lists for 1853 and 1854 and I did locate one possible listing for a Charles Harrison but I don't know how to decipher it to verify if it is the Charles Harrison that I'm looking for. If finding the source above would give any more details that might help. B.) If yes, then where would I find this source? C.) If no, then what would be the next place to look to locate his birthplace in England? Thanks for any suggestions, Judy
