Hi! I'm trying to connect my gg grandfather John W Harrison b)1851 KY to parents and siblings. In 1870 John is found in MO he is living in the home of William Cox Jr. and his family. He is 19 years old. This Cox family is also from KY. In 1871 my John W Harrison marries Sciota Cox Bates. She is the widow of Michael Bates and the sister to William Cox Jr. She is 15 years older than John and has 4 or 5 children. Sciota b)1834-1835 Ky is the daughter of William Cox b)1800 VA and Moriah (Mary) Clare b)1809 VA. John and Sciota soon moved to KS as their 4 children are born there. 1) Ploena (Delpa) b)1872 KS. 2) Perry W b)1874 KS. 3) Nellie M b)1876 KS. 4) Edward George b)1881 KS. d)1955 NE Edward is my great grandfather. He marries Daisy French b)1885 KS., the daughter of Ferris French and Lottie Coleman. Edward and Daisy married in KS abt 1903. After their 1st child they moved to NE. They had 4 children. 1) Delila b)1905 Ks. 2) Frances b)1906 NE. d)1976 WA 3) Pauline b)1908 NE. 4) Floyd George Harrison b)1910 NE. Frances is my grandmother and she married 1. Walter Clark in CO they had a son Charles Clark. They divorced and then Frances marries Achelles Leroy Morris in CO. They had 7 children. 1) Geraldine May 1924-1974 she married George Earl Shields 1918-1971 (my parents) George is the son of Alvin Porter Shields and Bessie Cummings. 2) Betty 1926 3) Eva 1928 4) Daniel 1930-1934 5) Loretta 1934 6) Rhoda 1937 7 Frances 1944-1972 Can any one connect with my John W Harrison. Who are his parents and where are they in 1860, John would be abt 9. in 1860. Do any of these people fit in your families? I have found a George Harrison 24 TN and wife Moriah KY with an 8 yr old John and a 6 yr old Lucretia. This is in Pulaski Co the same Co that the Cox family came from. 1860 Butler Co KY., I also find a William Harrison 53 NC with wife Martha 40 PA Martha 18 f, PA Mary 12 f, PA Nancy 11 PA f, N????? 9 f KY, John W 6 m KY, Margaret 1 f KY.
