In May, 1842 he married Susan BRIGHTON in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada per Civil War pension papers. He enlisted in the US Army for 5 yrs. in July, 1842 in Buffalo, Erie Co., NY. Their first two children where born in Buffalo and the third in Mackinac, MI in 1847. Samuel's service included part of the Mex-Amer. War and he was discharged in Mexico in July, 1847. He received a land grant which he used to purchase land in De Pere, Brown Co., WI in 1848. Four more children were born there. Children's names were Mary Elizabeth, Henry, John James, Richard Edward, Harriet Sophia, Annetta Maria and Sarah Louette. Samuel was wounded and then died in the Civil War in Corinth, MS in Oct., 1862. The names of his parents and where he was born in England remain a mystery. If anyone can supply any information or even clues, I will be most grateful. Thank you very much. Carol Harrison Carol H726@aol.com --part1_a80b1634.2505b2d2_boundary--
