    3. I am not able to be very specific, but "Settlers By the Long Grey Trail" by J. Houston Harrison goes into teh Sangamon ?Co. IL Harrisons, assuming that yours are from the saame fa,mily. Ezekiel Harrison was the patriarch there and his famikly and some relatives from Augusta Co. VA but whey had been in Christian Co. KY for a time before moving to Sangamon. Ezekiel was a veteral of the Frrench and Indian War and wounded at Point Pleasant. He was also former Sheriff if Augusta Co. VA and his ancestry goes back to Isaiah Harrison immigrant from England and son or Rev. Thomas Harrison, Purital theologian for Cromwell. It appears that Ezekiel and family more or less ran Sangamon County, County Sear, Springfield. When Abraham Lincoln came to town, the story goes, he called on his relatives back from Augusta Co. VA nd saught the hand of one of the Harrison girls in marriage, but he was rejected by the Harrisons as too funny looking and too "Country". His grandfather was also named Abraham Lincoln and he was of the same church as Harrisons in Augusta and married into the Harrison and Herring family. This family is well writtten up and I expectyou will refceive more detailid information from others. Dr. C W Johnson Tugger wrote: > Am looking for the family of Sarah F.
