    1. Re: [HARRISON] Thomas HARRISON, Dec 26, 1798
    2. I doubt if this is of any help, but maybe you can see a clue. My 4G Grandmother was Elizabeth Harrison[no dates] m Rev Oliver Riley a chaplain in a Virginia regiment in the War of 1812. I know of 1 daughter Lydia Ann Riley b 25 Aug 1821 Cincinnati Ohio. She m Martin Lee in Jennings County Indiana 9 Aug 1838 and I suspect the mother may have been there too, but Oliver had died in Cincinnati just before Lydia was born. It is stated in Lydia Ann Riley Lee's [d 18 Nov 1903 Henry Co Iowa]obituary that her mother Elizabeth Harrison was a cousin to President Harrison. It didn't say which one, but I'm assuming Wm H H. I don't have the obituary before me just now, so I don't know the exact wording. Your Thomas Harrison is close enough in age to be a sibling to my Elizabeth Harrison. Too bad there is no more information to link them. I would be interested in knowing if you know where your Thomas settled in Ohio. Thank you for posting your query. I do know that Thomas and his siblings moved from VA when quite young and that they settled in OH. Thomas later settled in Monroe Co., IL and later Plum River Prct (known as Jo Daviess Co. later). Family stories told by Thomas and Katie (third wife) told of a visit by Wm. Henry Harrison to them while they lived at Harrison's Landing (they lived on an island but owned acreage on the riverbank and made charcoal out of trees to sell to the boats on the river). Their land was washed away in the large flood of 1843 or was it 1847? Anyway, following the flood, they resettled in Jo Daviess Co., IL. Although this relationship is unproven, Katie always said, "Well, I guess Tom ought to know who his first cousin is!" and since she was present for the visit on the river, I guess she should too. Any help out there? Surely someone has something on this. I have tried to locate and run down all the siblings of Wm. H. HARRISON's parents as they or their descendants would be the ones to create the "first cousin" relationship but am not able to find all the children for the siblings. Please, any help would be great!
