Marcus Lafayette Yates was the son of John Yates and Elizabeth Blue. Marcus was born August 25, 1832, Deercreek Township Ohio and died October 28, 1897. His siblings were: David Reeves Yates, Emily Yates, Dewitt Clinton Yates, William Yates, John Nelson Yates, Francis Marion Yates, Socrates Yates, Marinda Yates, Roland Burbridge Yates and Townsend Cage Yates. Marcus married Angeline Harrison March 13, 1860. When Marcus became of age he moved to Fayette County and took over his fathers farm. He was also a #2 degree mason. I hope this info helps you.
