    3. I've noticed several TN inquiries on the list lately, so I'll try this one again. I'm looking for any information about Susannah Harrison who married Josiah Marshall in 1858. The 1870 census shows her at age 29 with her husband Josiah and four children living in Obion Co., TN. Josiah's family had previously lived in Smith Co.,TN, but he was orphaned and taken in by his married sister in Obion Co. about 1848. In 1880 Susanna is still with Josiah Marshall in Obion Co., but in 1900 Josiah was single and living in Mississippi Co., MO. Various records refer to her as Susan A., Susanna, and Susannah J. Harrison. She died about 1894, presumably in Obion Co., TN, because her husband was still there at that time; he moved within a year or two to Missouri where he married again. Family records indicate that Josiah and Susannah were married in New Madrid, MO, accross the river from Obion Co., although we cannot find a record of the marriage there. Nor can we find a marriage record in Mississippi Co.,MO, or Obion Co., TN. Historians in those places tell me it was very common to cross the river to be married in those days. I would be grateful for any clue to this Harrison family. Charles crspotts@tcsn.net
