    1. [HARRISON] SUSANNA HARRISON
    2. The recent postings about Harrisons in Ohio and presidential Harrison relatives prompt me to try again with my Harrison brick wall. SUSANNA HARRISON was born 7-10-1810, place unknown. She married Elisha Kirk on 5-20- 1830 in Columbiana County, OH, and died 8-17-1853 in Williams County, OH. One old family letter says that her father's name was Zacharia, but I have no other proof of this. As with many others, the family story has always been that she was a cousin (second cousin, I suspect) of President William Henry Harrison. Obviously, she was considerably younger than him. A story told by her granddaughter was that when William Henry was inaugurated, she sent him a letter of congratualation and received from him the silver buckles he had worn when he was a general, and that these had been passed on to her son Harrison Sidwell Kirk. Alas, I don't know what happened to the buckles or to Harrison. There is enough detail to the story to make me believe it, but I have never been able to find any connection in any of the Harrison genealogies I have seen, or to find any other family that seemed to be connected in Columbiana County. I would be extremely grateful for any information any one has to point me in the right direction -- even if it is not to the presidential line. Pat Kelly
