Posted on: Harrison Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/Harrison/837 Surname: HARRISON, READER, MASON ------------------------- Looking for information on the Ancestors of James Mason Harrison, a Revolutionary War soldier. There is excellent info on his descendants in the Harrison Repository, however, the only known reference to his ancestry is from his pension application in Overton Co., TN where he said that he came to VA with his parents from Calvert Co., Maryland. If you have information on any colonial Harrisons from Calvert Co., Maryland, or nearby, who might be related, please let me know, either by reply here or by e-mail. Some JMH descendants believe his parents were John Harrison and Sarah Daniel of Halifax, VA, but the documented info on their son James does not match the info about JMH. According to his pension application, by the age given, he was born about 1742. His given name, James Mason, might be another clue to his ancestry, i.e. perhaps his mother was a MASON, or better yet, his maternal grandfather, or an uncle, might have been a James MASON. There is a tax roll for Calvert Co. which lists several HARRISONs in Calvert Co., including some Williams and Henrys (JMH named a son William Henry, perhaps after a father, grandfather, or uncle). But that is all I have found so far. Thanks for any help! Don READER St. Louis, MO
