Stephen raised his niece, Sarah, who was born 17 May 1823, after her mother died about 31 May 1823. I don't know the names of Sarah's parents. Sarah was married 18 Feb 1843 in Williamsport, Lycoming Co, PA to John H. Barnhart. They raised their family in Gaines, Tioga Co, PA, where John died 18 May 1894 and Sarah died 1904.
