Harrison [this may be a mistake in the census as it may have been actually Audrey Elizabeth Harrison]* Audrey Elizabeth Harrison (Nowland) b-Nov 8, 1840 William Harrison (b-1846) Amanda Harrison (b-1849) Their mother was Nancy LaMasters (b-1812 in St. Charles Co., Missouri). Their father was William Nicholas Harrison (b-1818 in Virginia. He died between about 1857-1859, as he does not show up in the 1860 census). The 1860 census shows the 3 LaMasters kids living with widow Nancy. These were the 3 youngest children from her late brother Isaac LaMasters. Either she, or her soon-to-be late husband William N. Harrison, obtained guardianship over them in Feb of 1857. *According to my great-grandmother (Ora Audrey Nowland [Hunt]) who I knew and talked to, her mother (Audrey Elizabeth Harrison [Nowland]) was one of a twin. Now we did find the "twins" Nancy Jane and William both born in 1846, but, we are unclear at the moment as to whether the census listing of "Andrew E. Harrison" as a son, was really a twin of Audrey {which would make sense} or if it was an error in the census and was supposed to have been daughter Audrey. This family totally frustrates me, because I've got some terrific pictures of Audrey Elizabeth Harrison [Nowland], and I've accounted for all 8 of her kids, and most of her descendants. I met some of them as a child. I've got a suitcase of pictures of Audrey Elizabeth Harrison (Nowland) hanging out with her daughters and grandchildren. Audrey Elizabeth Harrison (Nowland) died Feb 17, 1928, in Grenola, Elk Co., Kansas, at the home of my great-grandmother (her daughter Ora) and is buried in Clinton, Henry Co., Missou! ri.
