Hello to all. Judging from all the Harrison messages that I have read--me-thinks you guys are all in the same mess that I am in--that Harrisons were either poor record keepers, no one cared at the time, or they just do not wish to be found!!! I have such limited info that I cannot call them clues. They are clue-bits. Elusive bunch, it seems, with whom we deal! Allegedly from "Phillips Hollow" / Bransford / Bethpage / Westmoreland / Sumner County, TN John M. or W. HARRISON (b & d -?, ca. b. 1855-1880) m. UNK they had at least one son: Eugene McClellan HARRISON (b. 09 May 1898, d. 02 Nov 1933) m. Elizabeth Rebecca (DUNCAN) (b. 1898, d. 1977) *Eugene McClellan HARRISON was reared Methodist. At time of death--he worked for the TN Elec. Power Co. as a streetcar driver/conductor. He had at least one sister, who married an ECHOLS. It is believed that he had at least one half sister. *Elizabeth Rebecca (DUNCAN) Harrison was reared Methodist or Baptist. She is the daughter of John W. (Wesley?) DUNCAN (who was the son of Astyanax Mills DUNCAN and Elizabeth R. (MARSHALL) Duncan) & Allie Meada/ Almeadia/ "Meadie" (NEWMAN) Duncan (who was the daughter of Franklin NEWMAN and Lucy (ROBESON/ROBINSON) Newman. Eugene McClellan HARRISON and Elizabeth Rebecca (DUNCAN) Harrison had 4 of 6 children who survived to adulthood: Ruby Jewel HARRISON, died young; Mildred "Millie" (HARRISON) [1-Zomanski] 2-Rodgers, is now deceased, but has 3 children residing presumably out West; John William HARRISON, still living. 1st marriage: 5 issue, all still living. 2nd marriage: 1 issue, still living--this is my husband's lineage. Carl Burress HARRISON, deceased. Married: 1 issue, still living. *At the time of Carl's death, he was a Metro-Nashville Police Detective. Carl's middle name possibly came from being after an old country doctor who may have delivered him--Dr. Burress. It is believed that Carl's child still lives in TN. Thelma Jean (HARRISON) [1-Johnson] [2-Kostera] 3-Miller, still living in MI. 1 issue, still living in MI. That's all there is...there isn't anymore! Since my husband's paternal grandfather died at age 35 and I have good reason to believe that his parent(s) may have already been deceased, we do not know anything more about the HARRISON lineage. I want to be able to tell my children about their surname and the history of the family...but I do not have much to tell them after years of researching the line. No military records, no family stories, no further info. If you have connections to this line or know something about it due to your research findings...would love to hear from you.
