My GtGrandfather was James Harrison born about 1860, oral history states that James and his family were from Manchester .James was a soldier in the British Army (Connaught Rangers)and fought in the Boer War . He married Mary Daly and lived in Ballinasloe, Co.Galway, Ireland . I cannot find any Irish civil registration for his marriage to Mary (about 1890) or for the birth of the first two children Kathleen and Arthur and suspect they married in England and had the first two children there. If anyone has British Civil registrations for Harrison of this time frame maybe they could locate my missing Harrisons or offer any advice on how to progress. Ann.
