My 3rd Great Grandparents were Joseph and Catherine (nee:McGimpsey) Harrison. Joseph's son, Robert, wrote his rememberances in 1898, saying that his father Joseph, originally from Newtownard, County Down, was a businessman in Belfast who was bankrupted as were may others at the end of the Peninsular Wars. Joseph sold his business to pay his debtors, then sold his small parcel of land to a brother named JOHN HARRISON in 1820. Joseph and Catherine emmigrated to Canada in 1820 on the brig Catherine and settled in Prince Edward. 5 months after arrival Joseph died of penumonina and for 5 years the family remained put and saved money until they could move to Asphodel, Peterborough, Canada. The timing is right, as are the names. There is an early list of businesses in Belfast that list several John and Joseph Harrisons, The list includes professions as tool maker, toy maker & Clock makers. If you can tie any of this down or develop a link between these ancestors, Please let me know and I will do likewise. By the way, I was born in Montana, but my family came via Aspodel, Canada to Clare Co., Michigan to Montana and I have no record of anybody from Anaconda
