Apparently Harrisons were Indians or Indian traders, as I found them listed in the index of a book called "South Carolina Indians, Indian Traders, and other ethnic Connections Beginning in 1670." The book index is listed at http://members.aol.com/rarebk Go to the booklist page, and then scroll down till you see the book, and invoke the index. The site also has the 1835 Cherokee census listed within a Cherokee Genealogy "tutorial" and other Indian lists and genealogical data.
