Jones, 83, of Raleigh, NC, died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, March 27, 1999. Mrs. Jones was born in Jones Co., NC on October 5, 1915, the daughter of the late Clarence Garland and Bedie Harrison Becton. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star since 1945 and was a member of the local Edith Chapter No. 160. Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Luther Frank Jones, Jr. of the home, four daughters, Jolene Smith of Westmoreland, TN, Lynda Pollock, Frankie Bell, and Captain Becky Jones, all of Raleigh, NC; one son, Luther Frank Jones, III of Greensboro, NC; one sister, Berta Wethington of New Bern, NC; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 29, 1999, in the Mitchell Funeral Home, Glenwood Ave., Chapel by Rev. Harold J. Smith. Interment will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park.
