    3. I am looking for information on this family. I have much on descendants but I am looking for ancestry. I am very interested in proving Charles Harrison's parentage. Can anyone help me? 1. CHARLES3 HARRISON (POSSIBLE JAMES2, JOHN1) was born Bet. 1810 - 1820 in PA, and died Bef. 1851 in Estill County, Kentucky (Source: Tax Lists for 1851 Estill County., Has wife Peggy Harrison listed for taxes on 1851 and 1853 tax rolls. There is no mention of Charles.). He married FANNY MARGARET SHIMFESSEL 1837 in Pennsylvania, daughter of PETER SHIMFESSEL and ELIZABETH ARENS. She was born 1819 in Pennsylvania (Source: 1826 Antis Twp Huntingdon County, PA Tax Lists., Lists Peggy as being 7 years old.), and died August 15, 1906 in At home of Mrs. Roland Hendrick's (her daughter, Sarah) in Clay City, Kentucky. More About CHARLES HARRISON: Burial: Bef. 1851, Near Furnace, Kentucky More About FANNY MARGARET SHIMFESSEL: Burial: August 17, 1906, Wells Cemetery on Hardwicks Creek in Powell County, Kentucky Marriage Notes for CHARLES HARRISON and FANNY SHIMFESSEL: I have seen it on several genealogy files that Charles and Margaret married in 1837 in Powell County, Kentucky. I have verified and double checked and they did NOT marry here. Powell County records begin in 1864. Prior to that thier records where in Estill County and I have also verified that they did NOT marry there either. I am suspecting that they married in Pennsylvania before moving to the Estill/Powell County area. I am contacting the courthouse to verify this information and will post the answer when I recieved it. Please make necessary changes to your Harrison Genealogy Files.
