Harrison born in Va. about 1801, married Elizabeth Hews in 1824 in Puliska county Georgia. He was my GGGgrandfather. My great grandfather was named Ruebin Tillman Harrison, his father was named Charles Harrison. Charles was born in 1800 in Va. I think. he died in 1854 in Georgia, he married Elizabeth Hews in 1824 in Georgia. Ruebin was born around 1830, he married first Nancy Mc Donald, second Missouri Sellers in 1865. Do you have any information on any of these people. My ggrandfather was JOSHUA PARKER WHITAKER it is his mother and father that I am looking for. Grandpa Josh was born in 1872 and died in 1931, he is buried at Fort Creek Church in Dearing, Georgia. He married JENNY HARRISON, her father was FRANKLIN P. HARRISON, she is buried at Fort Creek Church, as is Franklin Harrison. Her mother is unknown as of this date to me. She was raised by her step-mom ISABELL ISDELL, she was married to Franklin and is buried at Fort Creek also. The story behind my gggrandparents is: Grandpa Josh' mother was a full-blooded Creek Indian and she killed her husband one day when he came in from the fields. Then she took Grandpa Josh and his brother (whose name was BILLY) into the woods and hid. Well the authorities found her and the boys. They put her in an insane asylum and the boys were separated and raised by two different families. Grandpa Josh was raised by BILLY REEVES and in the 1880 census I have found him listed with WILLIAM H. REEVES and family as adopted son. If anyone has any of these connections in there family or know of any information that will be helpful please reply. I do know that at the time of his death my gggrandfather and family were living off of what is now Hwy. 221 on land that is now part of Fort Gordon.Vivian W.
