Surnames: Harrison, Carter Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jhh.2ACIB/2792.2799 Message Board Post: There are very substantial records of all the descendants of Benjamin Harrison IV and Anne Carter, Daughter of Robert "King" Carter, for example, A Genealogy of the Known Descendants of Roert Carter of Corotoman, published by the Foundation for Historic Christ Church, Irvington, VA, c. 1982, and Ancestors of American Presidents, by Gary Boyd Roberts, C. 1989. No where is Sara or Sarah Harrison listed as one of their children, nor is John Corman listed as a spouse of any Harrison. One possible source of these stories is that when William Henry Harrison was running for president, he sent out letters to all known Harrisons addressed as, "Dear Cousin." Since then, many, many Harrison families have the family story about being related to the presidential family, the James River Harrisons. I am a descendant of Benjamin Harrison IV and Anne Carter's son, Carter Henry Harrison, and I have done extensive research on the family.
