Just posted a new database to Rootsweb, with the Harrison genealogy from "The History of the Town of Wolcott, CT" by Rev Samuel Orcutt, as well as a DAR application by Frances Mary Harrington, one of the descendants. (Her info will not appear, as she was born after 1930). It will probably take 24 hours to show up, as this was the first time posted to Rootsweb. From the source, I take it that most of these Harrison's lived in Wolcott or Waterbury, although many similar databases indicate the town of Branford, CT, which is quite a few miles away. I'd be interested in hearing what others have to say about this. The oldest ancestor in the genealogy was Thomas Harrison, married to Margaret Stent, who was also the daughter of the ancestral ancestor's second wife (his step mother) Elizabeth Stent.. I can see that the first Thomas came from England to the New Haven area, which is closer to Branford than Wolcott. It would appear that this branch of the family settled in what was first called Waterbury, later Wolcott. I'm also still looking for a connection with Eunice Harrison, daughter of Richard Harrison, of Orange, NJ, especially if Richard is connected to Thomas Harrison of England. Thanks for any input you might share. Gary Allen Richardson gar3131@msn.com
