We are searching for information on any HARRISON Family of Craven County, SC. Our ancestor JOSEPH HARRISON and his brother JAMES HARRISON may have been born in VA about 1750. At an early age they immigrated to Craven County, SC. While there they joined the American Forces during the Rev War. Both men married GIBSON girls from the WENYAH area of Craven County. They were living is a district known as LITTLE PEE DEE. Both men had older sons by the name of NATHANIEL HARRISON, thus this may have been the name of their father. JAMES HARRISON settled in Sumner County, TN. JOSEPH HARRISON left a large family in the Natchez District of Mississippi. There was another unidentified HARRISON Family living in the same WENYAH area. Our brothers may have been members of that family. It was headed up by one THOMAS HARRISON who was born in England and died in GRANVILLE COUNTY, SC in 1755. Thomas had the following children: HENRY HARRISON, b 8 Aug 1738 in PRINCE WILLIAM PARISH, SC WILLIAM HARRISON, b 16 Jan 1742 in same area. The balance of THOMAS' family with HANNAH ELIZABETH SEALEY were: THOMAS HARRISON, b 25 Oct 1746 in SC HANNAH HARRISON, b c1748 in SC JOHN HARRISON, b 13 Jan 1749 in GRANVILLE COUNTY, SC MICHAEL HARRISON, b 30 Dec 1751 in SC FRANCIS HARRISON, b 21 Mar 1754 in SC As shown above the eldest son of THOMAS HARRISON was HENRY HARRISON, born 09 Aug 1738. This HENRY had the following children by unknown wife: HENRY HARRISON, b 1760 d 17 Jan 1818 marr MARY UNKNOWN AMOS HARRISON, b 1769 d 26 Mar 1855 marr SARAH ANN HAMILTON, 1790 -20 Oct 1846 WILSON SAMUEL HARRISON, b 1781 d 1856. He marr MRS MARTHA HARRISON, b 1780 JOSEPH HARRISON WILLIAM HARRISON He marr MARY BALL b 1740. His first name may be GENERAL. JAMES HARRISON The above unproven family of HARRISONS, headed up by THOMAS HARRISON who was born in England, apparently came directly to SC and not to VA. We want to learn whether our HARRISON Brothers, JOSEPH & JAMES were the grandsons of THOMAS HARRISON, born in England and died in GRANVILLE COUNTY, SC in 1755. If this is so, then they would be the sons of HENRY HARRISON, born 09 Aug 1738 and his unknown wife. We would be grateful for any scrap of information. HFisher

I am looking for information on this family. I have much on descendants but I am looking for ancestry. I am very interested in proving Charles Harrison's parentage. Can anyone help me? 1. There is no mention of Charles.). He married FANNY MARGARET SHIMFESSEL 1837 in Pennsylvania, daughter of PETER SHIMFESSEL and ELIZABETH ARENS. She was born 1819 in Pennsylvania (Source: 1826 Antis Twp Huntingdon County, PA Tax Lists., Lists Peggy as being 7 years old.), and died August 15, 1906 in At home of Mrs. Roland Hendrick's (her daughter, Sarah) in Clay City, Kentucky. I have verified and double checked and they did NOT marry here. Powell County records begin in 1864. Prior to that thier records where in Estill County and I have also verified that they did NOT marry there either. I am suspecting that they married in Pennsylvania before moving to the Estill/Powell County area. I am contacting the courthouse to verify this information and will post the answer when I recieved it. Please make necessary changes to your Harrison Genealogy Files. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jhh.2ACIB/5035.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Thank you for your quick response. I would appreciate any info you want to share with me. After I read your original post I went to Ancestry.com and looked at GA marriages to 1850 and found Eli Harrison and Martha Hadaway's marriage Aug 21, 1845. Thanks for that lead. I've never been able to find them in AL in 1850 or anywhere else for that matter. So far I have traced the Eli Harrison family from Leake Co MS to Shelby Co TX and gleaned all the info from the Shelby Co. TX website. I believe Josephine Harrison married G. H. Hall in 1880 after the census was taken. G. H. Hall (I've never seen his given name but believe it is Garland) and Josephine Hall are living in Panola Co. TX in 1900 census. G. H. Hall is the son of Abraham Hall who came to Shelby Co. TX in 1850. Abraham is burried there North Jericho Cemetery. G. H. Hall and Josephine had 12 children. In the 1900 Panola Co census she said she had 11 children and 8 were living. Those children were: Douglas, Donnie, Dennie, Ida, Ophelia, Emma, Harrison (my husband's grandfather), Lizzie She also said she had been married 21 years but she is still with her parents in 1880 Shelby co. TX so I believe they were married in 1880. No marriage records in Shelby Co prior to 1882 due to fire. In the 1910 Harris Co TX Census: Albert Roper J. P. Roper, wife married 2 yrs, 2nd marriage, 12 children born, living children not listed Lizzie Hall, step-daughter age 11 Elzie Hall, step-son age 7 I know for sure that Elzie Hall is the brother of Harrison Hall. I believe G. H. Hall must have died between 1903 and 1908. I found the following: Panola Co. TX website (Methodist Church – Gary) Vol. 5, p 596 Deed dated June 19, 1899, Filed Oct. 26, 1900 From: T.J. Hull and wife, N.A. Hull – 1 acre, more or less To: R.H. Nash, G.H. Hall and G.E. Ramsey, Trustees of Methodist Church at Gary, Panola Co,, Texas) I believe Harrison Hall is living in Shelby Co. TX in 1910 boarding in Joseph Alford's house along with 7 other young men. His age is listed as 24 and he should be 17. Harrison Hall married Bertha Robertson in Vivian Caddo Co LA about 1913. They later divorced. That is why I don't have much info on the Hall and Harrison family. My mother-in-law, daughter of Harrison and Bertha Hall is 90 and with this recent info I've found we are going to try to give her memory a boost. Thanks Hannah

Miss census, the 1870 Sabine Co. TX census and the 1880 Shelby Co TX census? Martha and Eli are buried in Newburn Cemetery, Shelby Co. TX. Comment following Martha's birth and death transcription is "born Jones Co. GA". If this is the same family you are researching have you found the parents of Eli and Martha? Also do you have information on their daughter Josephine Harrison? I believe she married G. H. Hall in Shelby Co. TX in 1880 after the census was taken. They appear to be in Panola Co. TX in 1900. Any info you would be willing to share on this family would be greatly appreciated. Hannah Van Horn

Someone had transcribed the bible and posted the family info on a Harrison message board a few years ago. This is my family. I am just wondering if anyone might have more info on that bible?
