James Harrison was John's father & one of my Ancestors, his oldest son, is named James Edmond Harrison. The 1850 Coffee County county census has a listing of John's younger children living with him at the time. Older Children not living at home at the time were James Edmond, Augustus & Elizabeth m. William Blair. Several of those Coffee County county Harrisons married in Butler County or died there after 1865.

I am trying to trace the family of WTH. Edward L. was born in Polk Co. in 1889 and his father GEH born 1854, GA.. I have lots of info re: Harrisons & Heads from Haralson/Cobb/Carroll Co.. The two eldest sons of GEH & Felker were adopted, sons of John Ray. Lots of info on line re: their children. I have lost the track of William Tolbert Harrison. I know he lived in Haralson with his son, George Edward and made a will for land in Bremen for George sometime around 1990. Unfortunalely the census records for 1990 are lost. Any info on the famiy/origins of William Talbert Harrison?

I was a Harrison by birth but my daughter is named after a cousin of Laura Ingalls of Little House on the Prairie fame. I didn't know it was the same Ingalls until recently! The Ingalls family (sometimes spelled with one L) originated in Massachusetts, I think, but with the Wilder family, some of them ended up in upstate NY for the logging business that kept everyone employed from the 1700s until the end of the 1800s. In the meantime, many people were hired to log or help in construction of the Erie Canal. My family cousins blazed a trail from Albany, NY, through the western NY counties, kept going at Buffalo and eventually ended up in Ohio, Wisconsin and Illinois across the lakes. If your people moved across NY state in the early 1800's to mid 1800s, the chances were good that they were in involved in what has been called "The Biggest WPA Project in History." The Ingalls family in my town moved on too (in the 1820s) and the branch that I know of is now in CA! That's a long way from NY. Happy hunting! Phyllis Reed
