Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jhh.2ACIB/5481 Message Board Post: This is to correct my previous message, seeking a relationship between my Grandmother and Crittenden Harrison. That family was incorrect. I am now seeking to find her in Logan County KY where she was married to my Grandfather Robert Van Buren Gregory. Many pages of the 1880 Census were too faint to read or transcribe. My grandmother had a sister and a brother. They might have been with her at the Shaker Community. Thanks! Bettie

Rosa M. Peters b: ca 1865 (dau of Jesse & Lucy Peters of Bedford County, VA) is married to Robert S. Harrison (no details known). Their names appear on a deed of sale along with the names of Rosa's sisters and their husbands. The deed is dated February 1902 in Bedford County, VA. I have been unable to find any informaiton on this couple and wondered if they moved away or died early. My main interest is in Rosa's sister, Sarah Peters. In addition, Bell and Jenkins are popular names in the central Virginia area around Lynchburg. Best Wishes from VA

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: HARRISON, LILLIBRIDGE, HUBBARD, KERN, CHAMBERS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jhh.2ACIB/5478 Message Board Post: Clysta Jane Harrison Lillibridge Clysta was the sister of my GG-grandfather Richard E. Harrison. This is her obituary which is in itself a short biography about her. "Clysta Jane Harrison was born 28 Feb.,1849 in Clayton, Iowa in Clayton county and passed away at her home in Weston at 12:30 A.M. March 3, 1932 at the age of 83 years and 4 days. When she was 2 years old , her parents moved to Bloomington, Wisconsin where they resided for 18 years. In 1860 , the family moved to Yutan, Nebraska in Saunders county. She united with the Christian Church in 1874 and was a faithful and devoted Christian until her demise. At the time of her death, she was a member of the First Baptist Church, Weston. She was united in marriage to Christopher E. Lillibridge at Yutan, Nebraska in 1872. They resided on a farm near the German Hall in Yutan neighborhood for a number of years and a few years at Wahoo when her husband served as sheriff of this county. Their pioneer life in the county was a struggle common to all early settlers here and she shared with her husband in doing her part nobly, passing through the various vicissitudes of life on the prairie as the vast domain of Nebraska was then called. The grasshopper plague in those early days was far more devastating than the one of last year, enough to take the hope out of all but the strongest hearts. In addition, later a fire destroyed practically all they had. Her husband secured work in Colorado in a mine working for Lincoln Frost Sr.. She shared with her husband in again accumulating enough to rebuild their buildings, working for the members of the mining camp. From Yutan they came west of Weston in 1884, residing there until 1893, in which year her husband erected the present home in Weston, where she resided until her demise. Her husband passed away in 1908 and the burden of raising the family fell onto her and it can be truthfully said she did the work well. To this union were born nine children, six of whom preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn, three children: William of Weston, Gladys Von Nordheim of Casper, Wyoming and Chauncy of Crete, Nebraska; a brother John Harrison of Weston, six grandchildren and friends. Mrs. Lillibridge possessed a cheerful character, was kind-hearted, charitable and her home was open to special and church gatherings for young and old. Funeral services were Sunday, March 6, 1932 at 1:30 P.M. at the house and 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church, Weston. Rev. V. C. Rundin, First Congregational Church, Wahoo had charge. Music was furnished by Clyde Knight, Lumir Mika, John O. Brehme, Edward C. Johnson, accompanied by Mrs. Clyde Knight from the Methodist Church, Crete, Nebraska. The large number of floral offerings bare evidence of genuine affection and esteem of many friends." Clysta was the only one of her sisters to remain in Nebraska. Her sisters, Mahala Florence Hubbard, Sarah Leone Chambers & Emma Justine Kern went with their husbands and families to Oklahoma in the 1890's. If you are related to any of these women, please contact me about exchanging information.
