    1. [HARRISON] Atkinson, Harrison, and Landrum
    2. Jim & Donna Nix
    3. Atkinson, Harrison, and Landrum researchers, Between the Census and information I got from an elderly Great Aunt (via her grandfather's family bible), I have gotten details on connections to these three surnames. I have identified my GG Grandparents as John H. Atkinson and Susan C. Harrison. (My Great Aunt had told me the wrong given name for John. I hunted for William H. Atkinson for months.) John H. Atkinson was born 1/10/1854 in GA, died March 26, 1928 in Alabama. Susan C. Harrison was born 4/25/1855 in GA, died September 30, 1882 in Georgia, probably in Henry County. Additionally, from John's death notice, I learned that his parents were James Atkinson, born in GA, and Eliza Landrum, born in GA. In the 1880 Census of Henry County, GA, I find: 140 140 Robert Harrison M 26 GA SC GA L(?) " F 26 GA GA GA Ophalia " F 6 GA GA GA Mary J. " F 2 GA GA GA Sarah " F 1 GA GA GA 141 141 Nancy Harrison F 47 GA GA GA Joshua " M 12 GA GA GA 142 142 Andrew Walker M 75 SC SC SC Mary " F 70 SC SC SC John Harrison M 20 GA GA GA Masonsa(?) " F 17 GA GA GA (granddaughter to the Walkers) 145 145 John H. Atkinson M 26 GA GA GA Susan " F 22 GA SC GA John J. " M 4 GA GA GA Sarah O. " F 2 GA GA GA Henrietta " F 1 GA GA GA It appears that Robert, Susan, and John are siblings. And Nancy could be their mother. I also looked at the 1870 Census and these Atkinsons and Harrisons aren't to be found in Henry County. Therefore, I assume that they migrated from somewhere else in GA in the interim. Additionally, from a Marriage record CD, I found that Elizabeth Landrum married "Adkinson" on 10/8/1845 in Oglethorpe County, GA. So, with those pieces of information I was hoping to find connections to any of these family lines. Thanks in advance and looking forward to being a member of these lists. Jim Nix Birmingham, AL

    1. [HARRISON] Harrison Repository Database update!
    2. Becky Bonner
    3. Hi everyone! I finally got it done! I finished updating our online database this morning. Started files transferring at about 2 am and left it running while I slept. It didn't complete transfer until almost 10am so I was late to work - but worth it to finally get this finished! Thanks for all your input and sharing. I know this database is helping folks connect and find their ancestors. Lots of new stuff including NJ Harrisons primarily contributed by Bev Cristafi, Skimino Harrisons from Peggy Givens and lots more with more than 31,000 records. Also an improved person index with a quasi Residence displayed on the index for most all HARRISONs to help your searching. However, please note that the Residence displayed may not be accurate as it may reflect where their parents were from due to sketchy records available to us. Sources and submitters are displayed with each individual. We urge you to contact those individuals if you connect to that particular line. And PLEASE do drop me a note if you find errors or can add information. Lots of links in our existing database were found so do be sure to check for your names when you get a chance. and of course, it is FREE. You are welcome to use this data in your private genealogy but definitely NOT for commercial or for-profit use. Point your browsers to: http://moon.ouhsc.edu/rbonner/harrison/persons.html best viewed with MSIE 4.x or better or Netscape 4.x enjoy! becky Becky Bass Bonner Email: rbonner@imail.ouhsc.edu old:rbonner@rex.ouhsc.edu Home of the *HARRISON* Repository http://moon.ouhsc.edu/rbonner/harintro.htm My Family WWW: http://moon.ouhsc.edu/rbonner/index.htm Data Managed by me and my mom Josephine Lindsay Bass (jbass@digital.net)

    1. [HARRISON] Harrison/Glaspar
    2. Hi. I have been searching my line for some time, with little or no leads. I am awaiting the death record of my great great grandfather, Matthew Clarence Harrison, in hopes to obtain his parents names. I have: Matthew C. Harrison b. 1875 Guffy Station, PA d. 1953 PA buried in Khedive, PA m. Rebbecca Robbins They had Glaspar Melvin Harrison in 1909, Connelsville, Pennsylvania. I was told Matthews father was Glaspar Harrison from Liverpool England, and he came to the US, during the Civil War, which he joined. I have been unable to document this. I am starting to believe his father wasn't Glaspar..Also, Glaspar's wife was supposed to be a Margaret Laws. If any of this sounds familiar, please email me. Thank you. NMalk4@aol.com

Born abt 1690.[1045] died aft 1726.[1093, P. 24] BALDWIN Benjamin, the weaver, was the founder ancestor of most of the Baldwins of Bloomfield. He came from Milford, Connecticut, and was in Newark in the fall of 1666, a young man aged twenty-six years. There was given him a home lot in Newark, located west of the present Washington Avenue, near Warren Street. He took up land between the Second and Third rivers, and north of the highway leading over Watsesson Hill. Among his descendants was David Baldwin, born about 1715, from whom most of the family who located near the Third River and Morris Neighborhood are descended. When David was eighty-five years old he could still drive his team to a swamp by the river and bring home a load of wood. David and his sons owned three mill sites on Third River, and most of the farms between the church and Morris Neighborhood. He was a charter member of the old church, and his wife and eight children had the same honor. The children were Zophar, David, Silas, Jesse, Ichabod, Eunice, Sarah and Simeon. Jesse was a quartermaster in the Continental Army. It was Simeon who opposed the project to build a frame church, and vigorously declared for a permanent structure of stone. He operated a grist and fulling mill. He died September 7, 1806. The Baldwin line to David and his large family runs as follows: Joseph, Benjamin, Benjamin, David. Some or all of these children could be those of Joseph, Benjamin's brother. [1141] [1087, p 107] Children: i. David[1040], 25148 (~1715-1803) 6 ii. Aaron, 27516 (~1717->1805) iii. State Library & Archives. Tennessee Confederate Pensions were first offered to soldiers in 1891. In 1905 Confederate widows became eligible. The files created by the Pension Board include original applications with data about the soldier's life and service. Many files also contain correspondence and other paperwork related to the claim. The index is found at: http://www.state.tn.us/sos/statelib/pubsvs/pension.htm If you find it useful, please remember to thank them, as they need encouragement and justification to continue to place these great assets ONLINE, for us. You can contact them through Chuck Sherrill, the Director of Public Services.

    3. Hi all, I have been my usual busy as a beaver. I am hunting for more info on the following family. Think John D. Harrison of Alexandria VA (Clerk of Court) (wife Betsy C as reported in Jun 82 issue of Harrison Heritage) might be same as John Dawson Harrison below. There was a John Dawson Harrison in the War of 1812 VA ... that might also be the same one. Would love any additonal info you may have. I am furiously trying to get caught up on my emails of submissions to our database ... and plan to update our online database soon. Hope your patience has not grown too thin with my seemingly slowpokedness (is that a word?). 3. If anyone can help I need help to find information about DOROTHY MARGARET HARRISON, born 28.05.1913 at Havercroft, Farnley, UD. Her mother, also DOROTHY HARRISON, died at the same address on 27.06.1913 age 23 years. On baby DOROTHY'S birth certificate her father is stated to be JOSEPH HARRISON, men's outfitters assistant of 37 Hampton Street, Birmingham. I would like to know what happened to baby DOROTHY MARGARET after her mother's death. Where is DOROTHY (the mother) likely to be buried from Havercroft, Farnley? I have visited Havercroft, but if anyone knows anything about the place I would be interested, and I know its a long shot, but if anyone knows anything of this family I would love to hear from them. Thanks Linda Sheffield

My step-mother now has 'almost' 20/20 vision and my dad is doing sooooo well, that he is only going to need 1 week physical therapy instead of the 3-4 weeks that the doctor orginally thought he would need. Thank you, again, Pam MONTGOMERY Pugh Orange, Texas pam3721@pnx.com
