    2. don't know if this is your Battaile : but here is what I have I have a Battaile Harrison who was paid for 159 days of service in Capt Hugh Stevenson's company (paid out of Romney WVA) during Dunsmore's War. That means he was living in the vacinity of present day Berkeley Co (west) Virginia. don't know if he remained in that area but members of our family (the Willets) whom he was standing next when he enlisted moved to Washington Co. 3. Hello all, A little earlier today I placed a post on this list for descendants of Benjamin Harrison & Elizabeth Bassett to join a new website strictly for the descendants. Now that I am checking my e-mails again all I am getting is questions about other Harrisons, I do not understand this. I will answer the best I can but I am not a fountain of information about every Harrison. My post was strcitly about Benjamin & Elizabeth's descendants, so please only e-mail me only if you know you are one from ANY of their children. I am descended from their daughter Ann Harrison and her husband, David O' Sheals Couplnad. Thank you! Beth suntanr2@worldnet.att.net

Battaile did not name any of his sons Battaile. But two of his Grandson where named Battaile,I think one was married to a Patsy Tinsley. Also Nancy and Mary where names they used a lot.

    1. [HARRISON] Who was Battaile Harrison?
    2. Kathy Campbell
    3. How many Battaile HARRISONS were there in VA? Polly HARRISON m. Archibald GOFF in Bedford County, VA, 29 Mar. 1810. The marriage bonds say that she was the daughter of Battaile HARRISON. Another record I found said she was the daughter of Battaile and Patsy HARRISON. According to the 1850 census, she was b. abt. 1795. The only Battaile HARRISON I found in VA that could have been her father was m. to a Frances, and he apparently died several years before Polly was born. He apparently also had another daughter named Nancy who m. Leonard GOFF in 1819. Were there other Battailes, and if so, who were they the the son of? I looked at the book, "Torrence and Allied Families," which has a genealogy of the HARRISONs in it but I couldn't find one m. to a Patsy. I also looked at the book, Tennessee Cousins, which also had some information on a Battaile but I'm not sure if this is the right one, either. Thanks. kathy
