Donald called his sister Gloria and said he was leaving the USA for Australia & never coming back, but the family knows he could not afford to travel and because he was in a Federal prison at the age of 19 for robbery of a US Post Office, we think he remained in the USA. We are pretty sure he did leave Nebraska though. He most likely does not know of the death of his oldest brother, and two sisters. His youngest sister is still living. His father passed away in 1971 without ever seeing his youngest son again. I would like to find out what became of him and also the name of his son from his brief marriage in 1963. Posted on: Harrison Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/Harrison/870 Surname: Harrison ------------------------- DESCENDANTS OF WILLIAM HARRISON William Harrison was born Abt 1700 in Virginia, and died in Craven Co.,N.C. William Harrison lived in Craven County, N.C. He was born in Virginia around 1700. In 1744, William Harrison received a land grant on the north side of the Trent River in Craven County, North Carolina. In 1746, William Harrison bought land on the north side of Trent River. In 1764, William Harrison sold 100 acres on the north side of Trent River for 10 Pounds. In 1771, William Harrison bought 200 acres on the north side of Trent River, on the South side of Little Chinquapin Branch. James, son of William, lived on Chinquapin Creek in South Carolina. The Waterway Map of Edgefield District, South Carolina, dated 1773, shows an extension of the North Ford of the Edisto River to be called "Chinquapin Creek." This is precisely where James Harrison received his first land grant in 1773. The area that William lived in, in Craven County, NC, became Jones Co., NC in 1779. James Harrison, son of William Harrison, was born in Virginia about 1725. His father, apparently, moved to Craven County, N.C.,about 1744. On May 10, 1773, James received his first land grant in South Carolina, on the Chinquapin Creek, of 150 acres. When James first occupied the land in 1773, he was the first settler in the immediate area. The land was surrounded by unoccupied land. It appears certain, therefore, that James Harrison named the waterway on which he lived in South Carolina "Chinquapin Creek," after the waterway he lived on in Craven County, NC The location of James Harrison's' Plantation in Edgefield Co.,S.C. is between the present day villages of Monetta & Batesville in Saluda County. His place of residence became part of Saluda County in 1895. James married Ann _____. He died in 1806 in Edgefield County, 96th District SC, on February 19, 1806. James was a revolutionary War Vet. as was his son, William. In several abstracts of James' will, it list a daughter Mary and a son, Jeremiah. Linda Weldon has a copy of the original Will and the name is Mary Jamimy not Jeremiah.

Hi Kathe, I checked my database and several sources, and cannot find an Elias Harrison in the Signer, Benjamin Harison's family. I am descended from Benjamin. One point, if Elias were Benjamin's son, he would not be William Henry's cousin, as President William Henry Harrison was the Signer's son. He would have to be either his son or his nephew. Good luck in your search! Mrs. Ruth O'dell was a famous historian and author of "Over These Misty Blue Hills" an early history of Cocke County Tennessee. I think there is some very important HARRISON information in this letter and since this letter was originally sent to Cocke County it indicates that Mrs. Belle Burgess thought this information was related to the Harrison's of Cocke County Tennessee. Roger Ford Austin Texas, August 6th, 1942 Dear Mrs. Ruth O'Dell, My I call you dear friend, who is hoping you have passed a successful campaign, and that I will not be a __?___ with my letter and comments on two ABNER HARRISON. I was very much thrilled when I read that JOHN HARRISON'S father was ABNER who came from Virginia to Cocke County. I would like to have the names of this ABNER's children. I am truely thankful that although my JOHN HARRISON is afflicted with blindness, he has retained his memory of his family, and I hope the good lord will spare him many years. Now I can understand why I neve

If you recall, my Harrison ancestor was Jane (Jennie) Harrison bn. 1822. in Cocke Co. Tn. Jane Married Wilson (Wilse) Mcmahan bn. 1823. For a while now I have suspected that Reuben Harrison bn. abt 1792 in Cocke Co. and Elizabeth Baxter were my Janes parents. I had some research that came from the family of Reuben but it did not list my Jane (Jennie) as his child and it just went back to Reuben. Just yesterday I found more research on the family of Reuben at the Stokley Libary in Newport. On this list was a Jane (Jennie) Harrison. This is her, My Jane I am sure of it. The information said that Jane Jennie was a twin sister to John Harrison bn. abt. 1815. Well this is not the birth date of my Jane, But their was also a son of Reuben that was bn. 1822 his name is Nathanial Adam Harrison. I think this is the twin of my Jane. I have found the graveyard where Reuben Harrison is burried. Reuben lived near by. This graveyard is aprox. 2 1/2 miles from where my Jane is burried. Another thing I found out was that Reuben's oldest son John had a daughter named Mary Harrison bn. 1859. This Mary Married William Mansfield Mcmahan a brother to Wilson (Wilse) Mcmahan husban of my Jane (Jennie) Harrison. Then I also found that Reuben's other son Nathanial Adam Harrison bn. 1822 was married to Mary Jane Ball daughter of Alfred Ball and Mahalia Williams. This Alfred Ball was a brother to my great great grandmother Marainey Ball, daughter of Osborne Ball and Martha Thompson. This Reuben Harrison bn. abt. 1992 had a sister named Jane(Jennie) Harrison bn. abt. 1796. This Jane married Abraham Lillard. Abraham Lillard was a brother to my ggg grandfather John(Jack) Lillard Jr. bn. Dec. 14 1795 died in Cocke Co. Tn. Reuben's sister Jane was the aunt of my Jane (Jennie) Harrison bn. 1822. The Jane that was married to a shields was the daughter of Daniel Harrison who was also a brother to Reuben. The other siblings I have of Reuben were: Josiah bn. ca 1790. Sincerely, Roger Ford great great grandson of Jane (Jennie) Harrison bn. 1822 --part2_7a.93313c0.26d13e9c_boundary-- --part1_7a.93313c0.26d17e3b_boundary--
Hello Harrison researchers, I'm still looking for anything on Moses Harrison of Belmont Co., Ohio, Smith Twp. He would have been born before in 1775, and the 1820 census says he was born in Virginia. His daughter, Thirsa or Terza, was my 3rd great grandmother. She married William Dawson. I'm fairly certain that Moses also had a daughter, Mahala, who married Abner Gray and a son, Reuben, who married Cassandra Davis. As with most Harrison families, these Harrisons were supposed to be some kind of cousins to the president, WH Harrison. Any info would be most appreciated. Susan
