Elizabeth Epps, daughter of Francis Epps (Francis 5-4, William 3, John 2, Francis 1) died 1824. She married Thomas Barker. He died 1818, according to, DESCENDANTS OF FRANCIS EPES I OF VIRGINIA, Vol. II. There are several Harrisons who married Epps. Is there a connection between the Harrisons living in Brunswick County, VA during the early 1800's and the Epps of Prince George County, VA? Thomas Barker, a brother to my ancestor Burwell, bought land from a Mary Harrison, widow of Thomas Harrison. I am wondering if there was more than just a land transaction. Perhaps the Harrisons were related to Elizabeth Epps Barker. Below are notes from a land sale written by Ms. G. Cole, provided by Ms. J. Richards. Thomas Barker later deeded several land tracts to his nephew, Thomas L. who later moved from Brunswick County VA, to Jones Co., GA. Brunswick County, VA DB 20: 348 31 Oct 1804 In consideration of $1. and Thomas Barker's paying to her at end of each year as long as she shall live the just sum of $25. Mary Harrison doth sell unto sd Thomas Barker all her right of dower in plantation sold by Thomas Harrison to James Crichton reserving to herself the use of the two small rooms of the house to the west end of the house, which she is at liberty to occupy but not to lease or rent avoiding the taking into it of any persons who may be troublesome and badly disposed etc. Wit: Mary Harrison John Barnes, Jr. Thomas Barker Joseph Holderburg Burwell Barker __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Hi Listers, Hope someone can help me find a family with the few facts I have. Ethel May James known as Maud was born 1882 in Sarnia, Ontario. She first married an Albert Goodall but that didn't last long. Sometime around 1902? she married (I think George Harrison) and had at least a son Albert. Or she may have had a son by Albert Goodall who was adopted by Harrison. I believe George Harrison is the one who died in 1910 and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery in Sarnia. Maude married again a Joseph J. Ryan and died in London Ontario in 1955. Some of this information came from her obit which says: London Free Press, May 9, 1955, Page 28 RYAN-Suddenly at her residence 481 York street, on Saturday, May 7, 1955, Maude Ethel, widow of Joseph John Ryan. Dear mother of Albert Harrison, Detroit; (Ethel) Mrs. Arthur Wallace, Royal Oak, Mich.; dear sister of Richard James, Winnipeg; Mrs. Edna Rogers, Port Huron, Mich; Mrs. Charles Barrett, Baltimore, Maryland. Resting at John T. Donohue funeral home, 362 Waterloo street. Requiem High Mass St. Peter's Cathedral on Tuesday morning, May 10, at 9 o'clock. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Monday evening at 8 o'clock. If any of this sounds familiar or you have any leads please let me know. I am stumped. Cindy
Does anybody know of any LATIMERS in the HARRISON president line? I am related to both the HARRISONS (paternal)and the LATIMERS(maternal). My mother used to talk about the LATIMERS could be traced back to a HARRISON president. I know it is a long shot, but does anyone know about LATIMERS in the HARRISON line: My mother and father were distancely related. But that's all that I have heard of. Thanks for your time. On family legend or actual proof? Do you know how many people out there think just because they are HARRISON descendants that they are automatically related to 2 presidents? Can you list your ancestry going directly back to William Henry and his grandson Benjamin Harrison? If so please share it on this board. I do suggest checking these sites on the Presidential Harrison's who descend from Benjamin Harrison the Signer of the Declaration of Independence: http://www.presidentsusa.net/whharrison.html http://www.presidentsusa.net/bharrison.html http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohbutler/gen/symmes.htm http://users.legacyfamilytree.com/USPresidents/6510.htm If you really are related to these Harrison I apologize for challenging your claim but good research with several sources to verify the facts is important.
