My g-gmother was Mary Jane Harrison (m. James M. Hamilton @ Pendleton, Lancashire 28 Jan 1875). Marriage cert. indicates Mary Jane's father Samuel Harrison who was a stone-mason was deceased. Mary Jane lived at 148 Bolton St in Parrish of Eccles. I'm looking for leads on Samuel or on Mary Jane who it is said died either in childbirth or shortly thereafter (when my g-father George E. Hamilton was born on 24 Dec. 1875). With common last names like these, do not know where to go from here.

    1. [HARRISON] John Harrison sw VA 1770-->
    2. Walter F. Williams
    3. Good afternoon: John Harrison is first located for sure in Botetourt County Virginia in 1771 (D. B. l, p.388), and John Harrison, Sr. and John Harrison, Jr. are found on Botetourt County tax lists for 1771,1772, 1773, and 1775. John Sr. was probably born about 1710 and John Jr. about 1730 or so, locations not known. John S. died in Botetourt County while John Jr. died in SC. Some descendants moved on to Missouri. Any assistance with primary or secondary documentation of this line and it's extension greatly appreciated. Always happy to swap files. Walt

I believe now that Joseph Lovell Harrison is the son of a Andrew Harrison and Mary Lovell. The reason for the possible confusion is I read this about the Benjamin Harrison connection in a Book called the The Paynes of Virginia. It made mention of Dulcina Harrison who married a Jilson Conyers Payne as a niece of Benjamin Harrison signer of Independence and Governor of Virginia. That is why I wanted to get further information. Is there still any possibility that they may Cousins? Jeff Jeppson
