> Sandy et. al. I have a Richard Harrison whose daughter married into a Davis family that was in Bath County early 1800's which is next to Augusta County. Family tradition says the daughter was born in Henrico Co. Her name was Sabina or Anne Harrison and her parents Richard and "Libbey" Harrison. Sabina married Richard Davis who was born in Lancaster Co. in 1725. He lived in Fauqier when enlisted in Va continental line and died in Bath Co. in 1817. Richard and Sabina Davis dtr Nancy married into the Payne family in Bath County. Here are some random notes I have found in my research which might help someone make some connections. Marriage Lancaster Co., VA Richard Harrison to Ann Reade May 18, 1717. (family tree maker marraige cd) Marriage 1763 Capt. William Harrison Anna Payne Goochland Douglas Tombstone Henrico Co. Sacred to the memory of the REV'D WILLIAM HARRISON (1) who departed this life 20th of November 1814 Aged 84 Years. In tender regard of whom His Widow hath caused this monument to be erected. Here let him rest in peace And let us try to live like him That we like him may die. _________________ SACRED to the memory of Mrs. Ann Harrison. who departed this life July the 2nd 1829 Aged 60 Years. Her Children from a sense of duty & affection have caused this monument to be erected in the memory of their tender Parent. I am looking for the parents of my Richard Harrison and his brother Thomas Harrison. They were orphaned at an early age and was raised by Isaac Robertson. I was told that there was a Thomas Harrison in this area that was close to Isaac Robertson and I thought this could be a connection, but I don't think so at this time. My Harrisons were supposed to be born in Maryland and were moved to North Carolina by Robertson later. I am not sure of their location between these two times. I guess I am basically fishing.....wish I could help but I need some help myself!!! Thanks, Sandy

He is not in my direct line, but is a half-brother to my ancestor, John Harrison. He also had a son Thomas who died in 1800. Harrisonburg is in Rockingham County, which was formed out of Augusta county. The best source for this line of Harrison's is the book, "Settlers By the Long Grey Trail" by J. Houston Harrison, published by C. J. Carrier Company, Harrisonburg, VA., 1983. It was originally published in 1935 by John K. Ruebush Company in Dayton, VA. Page 223 lists some of the people living in Thomas's neighborhood and Isaac Robertson is mentioned. There are two web sites that may help you: The Harrisonburg Rockingham Historical Society http://www.heritagecenter.com/HRHS/map.htm and http://www.ci.harrisonburg.va.us/about/history.html.
