It doesn't answer any questions but I found it interesting in that it shed some light on one of the family lines that I am following namely Newson Harris. I'm still trying to figure out how Thompson Harris was related to my Alabama Harris families. (James and Joel Harris) The reason for my interest in Thompson was that he and Jane were listed in the same household as John P Harris in Rusk County, TX 1850. It appears that John and Elizabeth Shed Harris were native to Jefferson County, AL. They married in the same township as my ancestor and although I don't know how they were related, its pretty certain that they were kin. Thompson and Jane Beckham Harris migrated circa 1830 into Mississippi. Earlier, it appears that they were native to South Carolina. One way or another, the families were related to Isham G. Harris, the former governor of TN. I wish that I had new information but I haven't looked at anything new in several months. Maybe now that Christmas is over I can resume my search. Kristina Harris
