In the Circuit Court of the county Davis, State of Iowa a petition was filed by Elizabeth Harris on 1-23-1875 that she is the Widow of John H Harris who died on 1-14-1875 and that other heirs are Richard Harris, Merrick Harris, John Harris, Elizabeth J Pollard, Rachel A Masterson, David Harris, minor heirs of James Harris dec'd. and minor heirs of Wm Harris being grandchildren of dec'd. This was included in the Davis County Will Books for John H Harris. Know all men by these presents: that we John Masterson and Rachel A Masterson of Spencer County Indiana have this day appointed and by these presents do make constitute and appoint Richard Harris of Davis County Iowa our true and lawful attorney. Whereas, we Vicy Rinnert and John Rinnert her husband in the county of Spencer State of Indiana in June 1876 did appoint Milton R Harris, power of attorney, of Davis County Iowa to collect and receipt in our name a certain amount due us from the estate of John H Harris late of Davis County Iowa. Maybe this will help researchers of this Harris line as I keep everything close to Jacob and Eliza Harris in the hopes of finding the Harris line they belong to.
