Does anyone have any information on Benjamin Harris who was on this census: 1850 Census, Warren Co IND, roll 178, page 21. Benjamin Harris, 50, M, farmer, $500, Born in Kentucky Mahala, 32, F, born in Kentucky James W., 22, farmer, born in Indiana Andrew, 19, farmer, born in Indiana Artimitia, 13, F, born in Indiana I have the marriage record of Benjamin Harris and Mahala Smith - they wed on 22 July 1826 in Lawrence Co Indiana. I believe that the age on this Mahala was written down in error by the census taker. I believe this Andrew to be my gg grandfather who moved his family in the mid to late 1850's to Edgar Co IL which was just over the state border line. Andrew Jackson Harris married Mary Ann Gilreath in Martin Co IN in 1852 where her parents lived. Cathea Curry LaGGato@AOL.com
