Harris p.229 *24 October 1673 - Thomas Harris of Turkey Island, Henrico County sold to John Smith (?) of Charles City County an Indian boy [chk: Henrico County Deeds, 135; FHC Film #0031769] p. 231 *26 June 1695 - Mary Smith (?) married Peter Harris [chk: Annals and History of Henrico Parish, by Rev. L.W. Burton, ed. and comp. J. Stanunton Moore, (Richmond: St John's Church, 1904)p.226] p. 235 Written interview of Mary Watts Pitts, *1778 Obadiah Smith married Lucy Harris. Granddaughter Mary Watts Pitts said they married while he was on furlough from Army service. *9 June 1781 - Mary Burke Smith born to Obadiah and Lucy Harris Smith *22 Dec. 1803 - Mary Burke Smith, daughter of Obadiah, married William Watts *Obadiah was born to Obadiah and Mary (Burke) Smith in 1755 in Goochland; married in 1778 Lucy Harris; and died in 1808 in Chesterfield County. He had no sons named Obadiah or Luke. His granddaughter, Mary Watts Pitts listed as siblings of her mother: John, Peter Field, and Jordan. [Ferris, Cocke, Woodson, Daft, Gromarrin and numerous others Powhatan, Chesterfield, Henrico,Goochland, Lunenburg, and many other counties are named. -- ILH3] This too was hard to read. To understand it you would have to sit down and work out the family groups.
