    3. In regard to above subject it appears to me that the information given regarding this Elizabeth Tilman's marriage to this Sherrod Harris is somewhat erroneous. According to The Douglas Register of Dover Parish, Goochland Co., VA, p. 6, Sherrod Harris and Hannah Page, both of Dover Parish, were married on Dec. 16, 1761. Sherrod Harris subsequently had 14 children from at least two wives and possibly three. The children are as follows: Franky (female) b. abt Jan 1763 m. Shadriot Eason John b. 3 Apr 1765 m. Nancy Williams Hannah b. abt 19 Jan 1768 m. Alsey Dean Mary b. 1 Mar 1771 m. Dudley Williams Archibald b. 3 Feb 1774 m. Susannah Williams Jonathan b. 13 Apr 1778 m. Elizabeth Williams Hudson (Huston) date not known m. Sally Trammel William date not known m. Drucilla Unknown Nancy b. 29 Jun 1787 m. Joshua Birmingham Simeon b. 4 May 1793 m. 1) Elizabeth Bennett 2) Margaret Bailey 3) Elizabeth Hicks Tilman P. b. 19 Jan 1795 m. Tiletha Unknown Sherrod W. b. 25 Jul 1797 m. Winnie Walls White Elizabeth b. Jun 1799 m. Mills Stephenson Martha b. 15 Apr 1803 m. Robert Stringfellow The will of Sherrod Harris was probated in the October 1805 Court of Anson Co.,NC and is very interesting in that it specifically names "my six youngest children" as Nancy, Simeon, Tilmon, Sherrod, Elizabeth, and Martha. It also separates apparently the first five as Franky, John, Hanner (Hannah), Mary, and Archibald since he left to them one dollar and no more. This could mean he had given them an earlier inheritance. He gave his son Jonathan 25 acres of land from a tract of 238 acres and left the balance of that land to be equally divided between Huston (Hudson) and William. The will also names his wife as Elizabeth and it is believed that this refers to Mary Elizabeth Jones, b. abt 1758 in VA and who died 27 Apr 1848 in Pickens Co., AL. Ken Schwarzburg
